Details: Job Summary: Operates equipment in the Power Plant to include boilers, chillers, piping, electricity, air conditioning, steam heat, chilled/hot water and all auxiliary equipment.  Performs minor equipment/system repairs as requested by Lead Stationary Engineer.  This position reports to the Coordinator of Power Plant.Schedule includes every Saturday and Sunday with Monday and Tuesdays off. Essential Duties: Essential Job Functions:Daily inspection, maintenance, adjustment, and repair of all equipment.Hourly observation and recordkeeping of equipment functions.Operates all centrifugal chillers, boilers, and auxiliary equipment.Changeover/transfer of emergency generator and transfer switches.Performs water chemical test and adjustments.On-call for emergency repairs/troubleshooting for the Power Plant.All Power Plant/Building & Grounds associates are expected to help during inclement weather with snow removal, emergency conditions involving downtime of major equipment, and peak summer grounds maintenance activities.  Due to operation of the Medical Center 24 hours a day, each person will be required to work overtime as designated by Power Plant Coordinator and/or Plant Service Director.  Those individuals who accumulate overtime will be compensated according to Medical Center policy. Marginal Job Functions:Assist in check up, oil/filter changes, and overhaul on standby engine generator.Performs preventive maintenance activities.Is cross-trained to lend technical support to other trades (i.e. plant mechanic, groundskeeper).Assists Lead Stationary Engineer in routine work.Performs other related duties as required (i.e. mopping, painting, snow removal, clean plant/grounds).
